Continuing Education

Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS) and Advanced Disaster Life (ADLS) Support courses offered by the National Center for Medical Readiness qualify for continuing education credit as noted below:

Physicians and Physician's Assistants

The American Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The AMA designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7.5 category 1 credits for BDLS and 15.5 category 1 credits for ADLS toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States who participate in this activity are eligible for AMA PRA category 1. credit.

Nurses

This activity is approved by the American Medical Association and is accepted by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 4723-14-05 for 7.5 hours of CEUs for BDLS and 15.5 CEUs for ADLS.

EMS

This activity is accepted by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS under Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 4765-19-01 for 7.5 Hours of CEUs for the BDLS course and 15.5 CEUs for the ADLS course.
